WHEN TO CALL
What counts as an emergency
No heat in freezing weather
Frozen pipes can follow within hours. Call us and we will prioritise the visit.
No cooling in extreme heat
Dangerous for infants, older adults, and anyone with a respiratory condition.
System will not start at all
Often electrical. Check the breaker first, then call — do not keep resetting it.
Water leaking around the system
A blocked condensate line can cause real water damage. Shut the system off.
Smell gas, or is your carbon monoxide alarm sounding?
Leave the building straight away. Do not use light switches, appliances, or your phone indoors. Once you are outside and a safe distance away, call 911 and your gas utility. Call us afterwards — we will handle the equipment once the property has been made safe.
BEFORE WE ARRIVE
Four things worth checking first
Sometimes these solve it outright. If they do not, they tell our technician a great deal before they even arrive.
01
Check the thermostat
Confirm it is set to heat or cool, the temperature is set past the room temperature, and the batteries are not dead.
02
Check the breaker
Look for a tripped breaker for the furnace, air handler, or condenser. Reset it once. If it trips again, stop and call us.
03
Check the filter
A badly clogged filter can shut a system down on a safety limit. If it is grey and matted, replace it.
04
Clear access
Move anything blocking the indoor unit and clear a path to it. Outside, clear snow or debris from around the condenser.
